Aimee is a seasoned, versatile, values driven leader with experience across innovation, public private partnerships, federal healthcare, Veteran and military cultural competency, crisis work, mental health, substance use, firearm suicide prevention and all aspects of preventing suicide with youth and adults. Aimee combines clinical ability and experience with broad national strategic planning offering effective recommendations to reach youth and adults in need. Her current company, Aimee J Consulting provides expert consultation to small and large organizations.
Aimee spent nearly 14 years at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VA) where she last served on the national suicide prevention team leading public private partnerships, short term strategies to reach at-risk Veterans to prevent suicide, innovation competitions, firearm suicide prevention and public health messaging to include a campaign designed by the Ad Council, Don’t Wait. Prior to serving military Veterans at VA, Aimee worked in juvenile justice, emergency department psychiatric social work, and owned a private therapy practice. Aimee is a 2019 Stand-To Veteran Leadership Program Scholar of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Aimee holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree from Whittier College.
